F3 Tech Accelerator Company Urban Electric Power Recognized with Multiple Awards and Accolades

F3 Tech Accelerator company Urban Electric Power is receiving national recognition and awards for the potential of its revolutionary energy storage technology.

Based in Pearl River, NY, the company was awarded the New Electrochemical Technology (NET) Award for 2021 by the Electrochemical Society for commercializing its invention of a rechargeable alkaline battery based on the zinc manganese-dioxide chemistry familiar in household batteries. The NET Award recognizes significant advances in industrial electrochemistry that have made it to the commercial market.

“It’s gratifying to have this recognition from our peers as we prepare to roll out more products using this technology,” said Executive Chairman and CEO of Urban Electric Power, Dr Sanjoy Banerjee, who is also Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at City College of New York.

Urban Electric Power executives presented at the prestigious TechConnect World Innovation Conference & Expo in Washington, D.C. in October where they received further recognition in the form of a TechConnect Innovation Award for 2021. The conference has connected top applied research and early-stage innovations from universities, labs and startups with industry end-users and prospectors for more than 20 years.

In addition to being part of the F3 Tech Accelerator Program, Urban Electric Power is also the only energy storage company among 20 startups chosen for this year’s Incubatenergy Labs program by the Electric Power Research Institute to partner with top electric utilities. It was also named one of the 101 Most Innovative New York Based Energy Companies and Startups by Futurology.life, an organization that aims to boost inbound investment into innovative companies and startups from institutional investors.
